When should you Call?

Every day between 20:00 and 22:00. If you feel unwell, sad or lonely. If you need mental support or want to share thoughts, or impressions from an incident or a difficult experience. You are welcome to call when the situation is currently unclear, confusing, suspicious, scary, unpleasant, or offensive. You are also encouraged to call in complex situations, in relation, among others, to relationships, family, work, coping and even if you have experienced challenges in the context of origin, religion, migration, etc.

What does Matan offer?

Initial and anonymous response in cases of difficulty and distress: listening, containing, support and referral to appropriate services if necessary. It is important to emphasize that we do not offer a substitute for official complaints (e.g. to the police). If you need a way to contact the authorities after incidents or accidents, you can find a list of relevant services here.

Matan Team

Our telephone service is provided by volunteers who have undergone rigorous and in-depth training, during which they learned to deal with a wide variety of situations.The project team, who delivers and oversees the training and phone calls, consists of experienced psychologists and social workers. All the team members, as well as the volunteers, are fluent in Hebrew and can understand you regarding any topic without restrictions. In case we are not able to provide an immediate or relevant answer, we will do everything in our capacity to direct and inform you regarding further organizations, where you can get the support you need.
